eric moon

* file & discussion: http://monome.org:3000/topic/220#new

Here's a max/msp patch I've been fiddling with for the few days since my
40h showed up. It controls four audio loopers, each represented by a
4x4 grid on the monome. Not all of the buttons are mapped to anything
useful yet:

12..
12..
1...
1..3

1: this column shows a VU meter for the loop in question. pressing the
buttons will momentarily adjust the feedback (normally 100%) -- the top
two make it louder (press them both for the largest gain) and the bottom
two make it quieter (ditto for a quick fade.) you can tap the buttons
in time with the sound to boost/cut bits of the loop.

2: these two buttons momentarily engage recording, overdubbing into the
loop. the lower one records at a slightly lower volume; again, you can
press both to record louder.

3: this is a "function" key. right now, the only defined function is to
clear the loop -- hold down this button and hit the bottom-left button.

There's still a lot of work to do on this; I need to hook up buttons to
adjust loop length on the fly, dump the current loop to a file, etc. It
does work in Pluggo, but there's only one pair of outputs; it would be
nice to have individual outs for each loop. Also, the loops are
currently mono.

All the same, I've been having a blast with it. If I could only
vocalize like Jamie Lidell...
…
Content was also deleted
