this is simply an extension to already coded apps written by other people. I just added the additional rule to the 'game of life' which makes this 'highlife'

The fourth rule to Conway's Life states: 'Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors comes to life.'

HighLife, developed in 1994 by Nathan Thompson, simply added an additional parameter to this rule, including 'any cell with 3 or 6 neighbors is born'.

Since cellular automation has caught on in the chuck apps, i thought this was called for.

The following files are:

1) a stand-alone HighLife simulation that generates internal sound (a modified version of the already posted _40h_life, which i additionally altered the sound to give it more grit & echo)

2) A HighLife version of _40h_life_midi

3) a highlife patch that works with the Monolife app (also, already posted)

HighLife is almost identical with the Game of Life, except in larger initial worlds. However, a unique pattern emerges in HighLife called the "Replicator". Unfortunately, without 12 fingers, it is nearly impossible to input correctly. But, worth exploring...
